KIU Summer School Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies:
War in Ukraine: Destruction of heritage – mastering legacy
Frankfurt (Oder), 16.09. – 27.09.2024
Viadrina University, together with its partner institutions, invites you to the first KIU Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies Summer School within our recently launched DAAD-funded project on establishing Ukrainian Studies in Germany!
Our international summer school is part of the certificate program Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies and will bring together students and scholars interested in historical, cultural, social, political, economic, law-based and conflict-related questions on and about Ukraine. We invite you to explore Ukraine’s rich history and present, improve your Ukrainian language skills, and learn from great scholars who have been dedicating their research to Ukraine since decades. Students will also have the opportunity to work in interactive formats, learn in sessions on conflict management, arts and culture and to present and debate their own projects in open discussion rounds.
In its first year the KIU Summer School will take place from 16th to 27th September 2024. During the two weeks you will have the opportunity to take Ukrainian language classes on various levels.
The academic program was developed in close cooperation with the institutions of the KIU competence network under the title:
